WiFENIX · INFO & HELP
Everything you need to get started.
First steps, compatible vehicles, a demo to try out and answers to the most common questions – here you'll find everything about your WiFENIX.
🚀 Ready to go in 6 steps
From unboxing to your first drive in just a few minutes.
- Download & install the software You're already here – download the free Windows software (link below in the Demo & Download section). Requirement: Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit).
- Plug in & ignition on Plug WiFENIX into the 12-pin diagnostic socket and switch on the ignition.
- Connect to Wi-Fi On your computer, connect to the Wi-Fi network FYP25-WiFi… and tick "Connect automatically".
- Open the software Start the WiFENIX software and select your vehicle.
- Connect to the dongle In the software, click the Wi-Fi icon – after a few seconds your dongle appears. Select it, click OK, done.
- Off you go! 🏁 Now you're reading live what your engine is doing.
Note: Without ignition, the control units send no data. After about 10 minutes WiFENIX switches to sleep mode – with the ignition on it wakes up again automatically.

🚗 Your model isn't listed?
No problem – just get in touch. In most cases we can add your vehicle: you record a few drives with your WiFENIX, we build your model from them – and everyone gets it as a free update. Not driving a Renault? The same control-unit families were used back then in other makes too – just ask, and we'll check your control unit.
📍 Where is the diagnostic socket?
WiFENIX plugs into the original 12-pin diagnostic socket. This is what it looks like:
Where exactly it sits depends on the model. Roughly:
- In the interior / fuse box: e.g. Renault 19 and Clio.
- In the engine bay: e.g. Renault 5, R21, R21 Turbo and R25.
- In the rear: on the rear-engined Alpine models – the engine sits at the back, and so does the socket.
Tip: The socket sometimes hides behind a dust cap. An interactive socket finder per model will follow later.
🎬 Try the software & demo
Want to try WiFENIX before you set off – or even before you buy? Download the software and a real recorded drive and take a good look at everything.
1. Download the software (free) ⬇Windows 10/11 (64-bit) · DE, EN, FR, ES, IT, PT, NL, PL, CZ, RU
2. Download the demo drive ⬇Recorded drive of a Clio Williams (F7R) · approx. 1 MB
How to play the demo drive
- Install the softwareIf you haven't already – see the button above.
- Download the demo fileSave the file above (e.g. in your "Downloads" folder).
- Start the software & pick the modelOpen the WiFENIX software and select Clio Williams 2.0 (F7R) as the vehicle and confirm – then all values match the recording.
- Open the file & exploreUse the folder icon to open the file you downloaded earlier. The simulation starts automatically – now you can explore everything in the Sensors, Graphs, Live values and Dashboard tabs.
Tip: alternatively, a double-click on the downloaded file opens the software directly with the recording loaded – provided your system recognises the file type. You then select the vehicle as described above.
No device needed: for the demo you only need the software. To read your own car live, you need the WiFENIX dongle.
