In many Renault F engines, the oil pump is driven directly by the timing belt. The shaft seal for this shaft sits in the bearing cap and often becomes leaky over time. Simply replacing the seal, however, often doesn't solve the problem, as the worn shaft no longer provides an optimal sealing surface, or precise installation in the confined engine compartment is difficult.

This repair kit ensures a permanent, simple, and reliable seal : A repair sleeve creates a new, perfect running surface – and the included special tool ensures that both the sleeve and the shaft seal are installed straight, stress-free, and in the correct position. No measuring required, no improvisation, no risk of leaks.

🔧 Technical Information & Notes:

The crucial factor is not just the repair sleeve, but its precise installation. Inside the installed engine, the working space is usually cramped, visibility is limited, and a straight, accurately positioned installation is almost impossible without the right tools. This set addresses precisely this issue: The special tool reliably and repeatably guides the sleeve and sealing ring into their correct position.

For optimal positioning of the sealing lip, we recommend installing the bearing cap with engine sealant instead of the original paper gasket. Likewise, only the supplied shaft seal should be used, as we can only guarantee a perfect seal with this one. The position of the sealing lip may differ with other manufacturers.

This kit is only suitable for engines where the oil pump is driven directly by the timing belt. Newer versions with internal chain drive do not require this repair.
